While doing research for another project I came across this true story of a dog named Sailor who lived in a lighthouse in Maine. Sailor would ring the fog bell to warn ships passing by during inclement weather. Sailor was quite the celebrity with boats and excursion vessels sailing past the lighthouse, as they would blow their whistle and Sailor would run out to greet them.
